diy | succulent teachers’ gifts

It was a last minute decision to do this particular teachers’ gift, but it turned out pretty dang cute! Three of my favorite things…seagreen color, glass jar, and succulents! I actually wanted to keep it for myself Image may be NSFW.

Supplies:
– chalk paint (Michael’s)
– small mason jars (Michael’s)
– succulents + potting soil (Ace Hardware)
– tags (Target One Spot area)
– paint scraper or sandpaper
– paint brush
– twine

Step 1:
Apply 1 coat of chalk paint to mason jars, let it dry, and then apply a 2nd coat of chalk paint.

Step 2:
Once mason jars are completely dry, fill each mason jar half way with potting soil.  Then, pull out the succulent, crumble the succulent soil, and place the succulent into the mason jar.  Lastly, fill more potting soil into the mason jars around the the succulent.

Step 3:
Grab a paint scraper (or sandpaper), and scrape the chalk paint while turning the mason jars to get a distressed/antique look.

Step 4:
Write a message on the tag, and wrap it around the mason jar using twine.
